Città Reale The ruling classes of eighteenth century Europe constituted a single nation whose homogeneity had not been equalled in preceding centuries. In 1750, Charles Bourbon, the king of the Two Sicily, bought the land at the foot of the Tifatini Mountains, that was to be the site for the future Royal Palace. Projected by the Architect Luigi Vanvitelli, the magnificent Royal Palace has 1,200 rooms and includes the Piazza at its feet, the Park, adorned with several fountains, with a crescendo of theatrical effects, where the artistic potential of the natural element “water” were subordinated to an architectural design based on perspective, and the English Garden.
